Nick Randall, fine furniture designer/maker.

My practice encompasses a broad range of areas in the furniture and design fields. Creations include furniture for residential and commercial applications in a range of different mediums. Timber veneer is a major feature in my work and i like to use this material to create interesting effects. I also like to use other materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, painted finishes and leather.
I use mainly fine Tasmanian timbers in my work but i also use other timbers for specific purposes or effects.

When given an open brief or with my own work i like to explore a 'marine aesthetic', taking reference from the beautiful forms, patterns and shapes found on a yachts hull and rigging. Combining this with beautiful Tasmanian timbers and other high quality materials results in contemporary furniture with a unique style handmade with much care and attention to detail.
